OJAI & SANTA BARBARA / GREATER LOS ANGELES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Here's a short FAQ that answers some of the most common questions I get. However, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all. Your wedding photography is an important investment and I hope that I can provide any information that can be helpful in your decision.
My prices for collections aren't listed here because I customize products and services to meet the exact needs of each client. Collections begin with wedding day coverage and digital files. They increase to larger collections with albums, engagement sessions, more time, and parent albums. A la carte pricing for destination weddings are available as well as portrait sessions, and anything else you may need. If you would like to learn more about what kind of collection I can custom design for you, simply
contact me and I can answer any of your questions.
I don't normally offer discounts but will always do my best to give you the best value for your budget. If you compare my work, skills and experience with other similar photographers, you'll see that you are getting a great deal. However, if your wedding falls on a Monday through Thursday, a discount may be available so please contact me for details.
My clients have described my work as timeless, romantic and cinematic. I love to capture real moments as they happen so I can also be described as a wedding photojournalist. However, the wedding day can provide several opportunities to create images that are slightly posed. This balance helps to create a collection of images that can best tell the story of your wedding. Also, my background in filmmaking has heavily influenced how I see light and compose my shots. From proper lens selection to use of light and shadow, I depend on my knowledge of my gear and my training in cinematography to create images that are dynamic and beautifully engaging.
I have top-of-the-line professional Nikon cameras and lenses. I also have extensive backup gear in case something fails because I never want those situations to get in the way of what my clients hired me to do.
A few weeks before the wedding, I'll give you a draft of your wedding day timeline. In it, you can provide a shot list of the groupings for your formal family photos. Other than that, you should only list important items like specific individuals and/or unique items that you absolutely want taken. A wedding day is dynamic so I can never guarantee that those shots will be done but will always do my best to accommodate your wishes. There is no need to list things like "shots of bride walking down aisle" or "shots of bride and groom kissing after getting married". All weddings have common elements and my experience shooting numerous weddings have given me the ability to anticipate and react when those moments happen.
I would also recommend not getting too attached to wedding photos of other couples. Each wedding and each couple are unique. My goal as your wedding photographer is to create a space for things to happen naturally and with authenticity. Forcing moments to happen simply to satisfy a checklist of shots will detract from creating the photos that I know you'll love and cherish for years to come.
All collections include edited high-resolution digital proofs. Proofs are images that have been edited for color balance, contrast, tone curve, etc. These files are print ready and in the JPG format so that every print lab can handle them. I will also select a few of my personal favorites for extra editing and retouching above and beyond the norm. I provide these versions as a complimentary gift to you.
The RAW files are available for purchase at an additional cost. Keep in mind that these files require special software to view and need processing in order to even make them good enough to print. Because of this, clients who have purchased the RAW files do so primarily for archival purposes.
Images that aren't delivered may be rejected due to technical imperfections or unflattering content/expression. Also, if there are two or more images that are nearly duplicate in nature, I'll only deliver one. These outtakes are deleted during the editing process so they aren't available once final delivery is made.
Images are uploaded to your online gallery within 4-6 weeks after the wedding date and are available for download at that time. If you include an album in your collection, the design process begins soon after your images are delivered. Once the final design is approved for production, it takes approximately 6-8 weeks for delivery.
Absolutely! Although I'm based in Ojai here in southern California, I travel frequently for weddings outside of the region. My reasonable travel fees depend on far I have to travel, if so by car or plane and if accommodations are necessary.
Unfortunately, I can't exclusively hold your wedding date without a booking fee and signed contract. Bookings are on a first come, first served basis and is the best way to be fair to everyone who is interested in hiring me.
